The axles thing has blocked me for the moment. I don't currently have the metalworking tools/stock needed. Also, I need to solve the bearings issue. Along with Anon's advice on the other board to use wood as the base platform, I've backed off on this in specific for the moment.

And since in-part the cartwaifu project is intended as a "rolling gantry" system for development of a fully-bipedal smol robowaifu project(s) (<=24" Sumomo-chan, to start with), I'm taking some time to get a 3D printer, printer, and lab rework done to support that project in parallel.

I've gotten most of the gear together for this stuff now (save the axle, bearings, and metal tools). I'll probably manage more progress on the bipedal project first (cheaper, easier). Hopefully that will motivate me to make time/spend resources to solve the cartwaifu drivetrain needs.

My advice would be to build the cart, place the battery and control electronics in a small box on the bottom, then mound the motors to a small wood board connected to the cart. From there, use leaf spring suspension for the front wheels and mount casters on the back. You should be able to 3D print what you don't already have, aside from a wood plank to bolt the motors and affix the cart too. Could print that too, would just need heaps of thickness to deal with expected forces.
