Heme iron is different in... Some way. It's found in meat. I'm not sure if it's mostly considered so special because it's found directly in food, and vitamins are often more easily absorbed, for whatever reason, from food, or what. There's dessicated beef liver pills. My mom takes those. She has an iron deficiency, it's more common in women, but her dad regularly did too. Over the last few weeks I've been starting to think I have one too, hence my vague knowledge on the subject. Certain fortified breakfast cereals have lots of iron too. Strawberry Honey Bunches of Oats has like 80%, but others have like practically none, and it's basically at random.
Cheerios? Plenty of vitamins.
Honey Nut Cheerios? Well, those are just Cheeriod with a dusting of honey nut flavor, no? So they should have the same amount of vitamins. Wrong! No vitamins!
A lot of the kids themed sugar blasted fruit and marshmallow fuckery cereals actually have a good spread of vitamins while the "healthy" grown up targeted slop is as nutritions as cardboard. Probably due to regulations forcing these companies to mineralize the kid's cereals, so it might be different if you live outside the US.
Seriously, though, next time you're at the store, look at the vitamins in different boxes of cereal. It's maddening.
