Random thoughts or pics or whatnot.

Recently I got into watching the important moments from Dragon Ball, like first Super Saiyan, SS2, SS3, Ultra Instinct, first fusion, character debuts, etc. The English voice of Goku is so superior its not even funny, I don't know how japs tolerate the weak granny voice of the original.
Generally I was also surprised that the girls are cute.
And that the adaptation of Super has a completely different fight when Kefla makes her debut, I thought I was watching the wrong ep.

I think I'll "watch" the original Dragon Ball and Z back to back. But I'll make liberal use of skipping ahead or raising the speed, since the pacing is a little shit in lots of places. With skipping ahead it could be a very neat anime I think.
I wonder if there's a project like "One Pace" but for DB.

The fact I've never seen the series so I wouldn't even know what to cut?

Speaking of video editing, anyone know of some fast tool for cutting videos? Something like the editors found on PS4, Switch or alike, an almost instant single purpose tool? Kdenlive is too slow (like 8s+ startup), and I can't just right click a video file to open it with it.

The library manga is so good. The main librarian is so hot. Sometimes I wonder if the overexposure to hardcore porn made me see long skirts, long sleeves, collars and alike as more sexy than just normal bikinis and alike. Basically going almost full circle and arriving on the opposite side. Though I suppose the sexiness comes from the assumption that under those modest clothes is actually a good body. If I imagine a granny or a slob underneath then they're not hot anymore. Maybe also the soft look of the clothes has something to do with it (imagine the softness). With nudity the only soft parts are tits, ass, maybe belly, but with loose long clothes its as if the whole woman is soft, but she can still be thin and shapely. Maybe the social element also plays a role: the woman dresses modestly, so I assume she's not a slut and would make a good mother, so the desire to impregnate again swells. It's like indirect fertility. Direct just means giving birth, indirect means actually helping your children survive and start families of their own. I remember hearing that the best way of measuring fertility is the number of grandchildren, not children and it seems to make sense. Her character also seems caring, competent and stern when she needs to be.
tldr; Hayasemaru makes me diamond.

The muscle guy is also a pretty good bro for our main character. Also the manga's name is "books bought with taxes"

Because of the meme I binge-read like 2 volumes of this thing r15+ ja dame desu ka? and its pretty good.
And another manga that makes me feel inadequate and inferior because the art is so good.
It also goes in the direction of "don't just watch movies, go out and meet people" and I really like that message, I've been thinking of drawing something similar myself, though mine would've been way shorter, and more heavy handed/preachy.
Back to the manga, good characters, comedy, story, and the author is an asshole that uses mysteries to keep people reading (it works, fuck).

Seems like every other character in Tengoku Daimakyo is non-gender/both-gender or some weird shit. The whole manga feels quite bizarre when the author previously just made Soremachi.

Toei did it themselves, it's called Dragon Ball Kai and it specifically exists to be DBZ in HD and without the whole seasons' worth of filler from the original broadcast. It's also censored because we can't have nice things and partially reanimated because some of the original cels were damaged; the first uncut airing was fucking Toonami of all places but I don't know if it was ever released elsewhere. If anyone has it (or a fan-made alternative) it would be Seed of Might though.

Rolly-polly loving autist is pretty nice.
Metroid Dread went a little overboard with making her look "cool", but its still more than all the previous games combined, and she does look pretty cool in many cutscenes. And Dread was developed by non-japs, so I guess the slant eyes are to blame for Samus' lack of personality.
Aside for those ancient comics, I see a common trend of armored Samus having some personality, and slut Samus being just a piece of ass.
I've been thinking of making some fanfiction where Samus actually has a personality, if only as a writing exercise.

Speaking of fanfics, I also downloaded some Super Metroid romhacks, and some of them appear to actually have a story. Though now I'm going through Junkoid that doesn't even star Samus as the protagonist, so you'll have to wait for a review of those other ones, lmao.
I heard X-fusion and Hyper Metroid have some more story in them.

Speaking of Dragon Ball, I finished the first arc (13 episodes) and it was really good actually. The pace was good, it was fun and interesting, the characters also good, animation looks surprisingly good for the age. Its no gundam, it actually looks nice.
I wonder and worry how Yamcha and Bulma are going to break up, their relationship was built up really well in those episodes. And the conclusion of "we don't need Dragon Balls anymore" because they got what they wanted was really sweet.
Bulma was essentially a 3dpd with a 2d coat of paint, but I could somehow stomach it.
And the English dub goku is so much better than the jap one. Though the eng version sometimes is in borderline fanfiction meme territory, considering how much they're changing.

Ironically it's actually the Character of Samus Aran that's actually ruined the whole Metroid series. They wrote themselves into a hole focusing on the Story of Samus Aran to the point now where every game has to be some kind of prequel or in-betweener and is massively creatively shackled by expectations of what Samus Aran is supposed to be. Metroid won't have a chance to be good again until they kill her off and replace her with another faceless grunt in powered armor.

>They wrote themselves into a hole focusing on the Story of Samus Aran to the point now where every game has to be some kind of prequel or in-betweener and is massively creatively shackled by expectations of what Samus Aran is supposed to be.
True, but Metroid is also still from the old type of games, where the gameplay comes first and foremost, and any lore or story is later retrofitted to the gameplay. People liked Metroids because the physics felt good, powerups were fun, map was interesting, music was good, it had a specific atmosphere. And if you beat the games fast enough you get a pinup illustration of slut Samus. Nobody checked out new Metroid games to see where the "story" went. Super Metroid has a bullshit excuse for a story, and its one of the best in the series. Zero Mission doesn't have a story, and lots of people love that too (not me, but that's beside the point). And Dread had a decent story and amazing everything else. Fusion was good too
>Metroid won't have a chance to be good again until they kill her off and replace her with another faceless grunt in powered armor.
>good again
Dread was excellent, so you're full of shit. Actually, all 2d Metroids range from good to genre defining.
Also, all 2d Metroids follow a linear story, the only prequel/inbetweener is Other M, and Prime games exist in their own corner.
>replace her with another faceless grunt in powered armor.
Fuck that. They can replace her, but with someone that actually has a personality, not a glorified robot. Metroid is good in spite of Samus, but there's no reason they can't just make her (or anyone else) good.

I found some weird shit on mal.
Man, there's so many manga out there, on so many topics.
Does anyone remember a doujin where space pirates capture a spaceship full of catgirls by pumping the air in their ship full of rutting pheromone? I first read it more than a decade ago on tentaclerape.net and the only other thing I can remember from it is when the main bad guy tries to auction off the cat girls one of the aliens on the call is fucking ALF and everybody else calls him a faggot.
