Heh, likely true.  :)  I've probably gone too far in this direction at times (but admittedly /robowaifu/ is quite a different type of board, with very long-running conversations going).

It probably helps that like Mechnomancer, they design their mecha for a challenging situation instead of something that looks superficially impressive on a carefully controlled set. In Mechnomancer's case it's building mecha on a low-ish budget, whereas in theirs it's building mecha for offroading in the Canadian bush.

Aye, I've mostly been trying build meks on a low budget, but my focus has been primarily on developing motor control systems... because nothing really exists for controlling 12V actuators at 48v with the level or precision or margin of error necessary: modifying standard servos only works up to 24v because the actuators get inertia at higher voltages which you need to compensate for when reading the joint encoders... nerd talk blah blah blah.

The actual shape of the mech has mostly been secondary.  Lean startups (and other constraints) drive & force innovation, because when you have a large budget there is a tendency to just throw money at the problem and hope that fixes it.

But I think I have the kinks worked out of the motor control system now (the low level logic takes a surprising amount of power), the right side of my mech is pretty much calibrated. Gotta calibrate the left side, assemble the two halves and dress it up.

Maybe next I'll build a smol exosapien or a bipedal mek.  With the system I've developed it opens a lot of opportunities for neat builds.  I can also see how far I can push actuators to drive big ol legs...

No Zig bindings anyare, or syntax highlighting, but au BufNewFile,BufRead *.zym set filetype=go works.
The readme says:

Can anyone give a rundown of what's up with Redot?
Everyone expected Redot to die in a few weeks, and yet it's still there. For what I can see the latest version is based on Godot 4.5, and while they're trying to keep Redot compatible with Godot 4.5, there's no info about 4.6 (which is the latest Godot version). And documentation is outdated as shit, for example https://docs.redotengine.org/about/release_policy still mentions how godot releases work, they just did an s/godot/redot/ on the whole documentation.
Worse they started Rex, then abandoned it (saying they'll merge stuff into the normal Redot), then parallel to that they started Draconic Engine which is

There are obscure youtube videos explaining how the main programmer for Redot left because he didn't agree with Redot taking donations, or something. That developer left to make Blazium which explicitly doesn't take donations. You may find more deets by searching "youtube redot blazium".

I'm not sure how relevant that is to whatever's been going on with Redot lately, given that the Blazium project was founded a couple years ago. Blazium's twitter page was made in 2024, whereas a quick nitter search indicates that Rex wasn't announced until mid-2025.

It's a huge pain because you have to make sure no sweat/fingerprints get on the inner side of the lens embedded in the face and the display. You'll have to degrease the console outer shell, thoroughly clean it and wear gloves when you're inside.
Believe me, an ounce of prevention is really worth a pound of cure when working with them.
You might want to get an optics cleaning air blower to get the dust out.

3 is... cool, just more interested on trans-humanism than conflict, like a lot of 2000s games.
4 is pretty straight-forward, being mostly about how war sucks for this particular kid.
I think the problem with 5 is the characters, Nagase and Slash feel pretty hamfisted, specially after the stadium mission. Plus while the "Belkans did it" thing is funny it's also just kind of jammed in to make the anti-war message make sense.
Zero is kino (and my personal favorite) because you have a lot more focus on the individual enemy aces, which makes the war feel a lot more personal despite you being a mercenary. I think Zero is the best one at the whole "war is... le bad actually" because of that. 
Skies Unknown is cool but the whole anti-war message is lost between the story of Mihail and his drones. Game is still great, but it's definitely my least favorite plot (aside from the penal squadron bits).

4 was fine, though I think it is massively overrated.
Slash was the guy in 2, I do not remember Davenport's callsign but Grim was Archer and I do not recall Snow having a callsign but he did not say much.

I think that is a fair criticism of 5, especially Nagase, she does mention it a lot but it never bothered me honestly.
Zero, I found to be far too short. Outside of gameplay the aces never did anything for me either. I also grew to dislike PJ with all the death flags he kept raising. No issues with the plot besides him but I was pretty disappointed by Zero on the first run.
Out of the main games, 7 is the one I like the least, 1 aside. Flight model is among the worst and the story suffered from the shit development. Never cared about any of the characters. I would take 7 over X2, Cross Rumble and Assault Horizon though.

If you lose, yeah. I don't think I wrote one for forcing yourself on a gaggle of imps at the same time, but they're dry-skinned hook nose thin-hair ugly gremlins with ugly designs, so that's on someone else to fill in for.
Possible bug report, when I attempt to scroll, it now highlights text instead of scrolling. Platform is Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, installed the x64 app from here, can still scroll with bar but now the text changes to be highlighted black. Bit of a distraction from raping the cute bat girl more, really. Tested on all Gilt scenes, Helia threesome with Sophie Bimbo, and chatter with the goo girl slave.

Was gonna post this in the old thread before I saw it hit the bump limit.
I posted about this mole fetish simulator Prince of Persia/Shadow of the Colossus hybrid's demo last year and complained about its movement and lack of graphics settings. The dev later overhauled both of these in a demo patch, much to my surprise, and now that it's out on GOG I'll probably give this thing a whirl and a writeup when I'm done with it.

I dunno if any of you remember that Automaton Lung game that came out in the final days of the 3DS e-shop, but a Godot-powered sequel for it called Automaton Heart was released on Friday.
The main reason I'm posting this is to ask: do you ever see anything like the weird faux-anime style in pics related released nowadays? This specific flavour of western tag seems like it's gone the way of the dinosaur. It reminds me a little of Peter Chung's animations, and I'm pretty sure I've seen some 2000s French character designs which looked almost exactly like this.

Yeah, that room is almost entirely driven by the game's movement magnetism in a way that's way less impressive than the devs thought it would be.
Reminds me, the huezillian brothers have tweaked MotorSlice's movement yet again. I can't test it out to see if it feels much better though, as the GOG version still hasn't received a single update.

MotorSlice has at least one walking mech amidst its construction robot bosses, and a pretty huge one at that. It's a bit more dynamic to platform on than the prior bosses, as the limbs give it more exterior moving parts than the dumptruck or the helicopter. The problem is that, unfortunately, running up the thing and killing it is still a lot more trivial than a Shadow of the Colossus boss. You actually climb the latter, and cling on for dear life while the titan tries to shake you off, whereas here you just run up some geometry, do a bit of platforming, and zip around vulnerable orange patches with your chainsword. It isn't nearly as satisfying to take down, and you almost feel bad for the boss because it's helpless the moment you get a foothold.

M.A .S.S. Builder is mediocre as hell. Close to a shit game if you ask me.
 
Mechabellum is a halfway decent time waster if you like Multiplayer.  

Grendizer is a typical license game that follows the anime episode by episode. If you like Grendizer get the switch version.

Star Renegades looks like Active Time Battle the rogue like (i.e. lazily designed).

Its just as edgy and silly as Dorohedoro, if not more.
But I think I like the world and characters more in Dai Dark.
It's just fun, interesting, funny and very unique.
Her style is also very interesting, its like Tsutomu Nihei scribbles, but if he actually knew human anatomy.
The whole "light themed church is actually the bad guys" trope is super tiring though, but I guess if I want the opposite of that I'll just have to do it myself.

It does need a wee nerf. I mostly only interact with it when I feel like having an easy game start. The "shows" also aren't that interesting to me, maybe if there was some interaction with the Dairy or something I'd find them more compelling but I dunno that ends up feeling like something that becomes a lot of work.

Where's the option to automatically give slaves an actual first name on bulk release? And why is there no option to give a random name based on ethnicity or FS on the customization tab? Having to come up with names myself and manually apply them one by one makes bulk release more work than individual release.
What does converting the Special Forces to certain Future Societies actually do? It's extremely expensive and takes a lot of time but what are the actual effects other than flavor text in the base tour?  I also noticed Racial Supremacy/Subjugation wasn't an option.

Hello, I'm a board staff from /digi/. Apparently when I try to edit one of the custom pages for the board I get a message saying I don't have permission for it, despite the fact I have editing permissions. Any idea if this is an issue with JSchan or is it any other permission I'm missing?
